Less is More Challenge 72 - Something Shiny

Not had much time to blog lately as last weekend we were up north for my cousin's wedding and hubby was doing the photo's with me helping, after the main photos were done I had 5 minutes to freshen up and change then back down to enjoy a lovely meal and dance after.  Still couldn't wear heels after hurting my foot the week before (all your kind words were appreciated, thankfully nothing was broken , but it has taken a while to walk normally and its still a bit stiff) I had to wear flats to the dance and this meant I had to rethink my outfit, so the white linen trousers came to the rescue!

Anyway onto my card.  Not sure about you but when I get asked to make two cards for the same person , on the same colour scheme ,I panic that I wont be able to come up with two different cards. I finally did. then I realised I needed a third from myself!! I will post the other two later. Incidentally , these were for a friend, not my cousin.

The first one I did had to tie in with the invites so that was easy then for the 2nd one, having seen a picture of her cake I decided to replicate the cake in card.

First I created the 3 tier cake in shimmer card then did a diagonal half of each tier in the zebra paper, then added a strip of silver mirri card ( not shown very well in photo) between the two halves, added in a few punched flowers with some shiny jewels, a few hearts punched from glitter card stuck to some wire coming out the top of the cake and it was done.the sentiment was done on the pc and the cake placed on 3d pads.

 

I am entering this into the Less is More challenge something shiny .

LIM 70 Colour Challenge

Less is More challenge this week is Red, White and Blue, not sure if this isn't clean and simple enough for Lim but I'm sure the lovely ladies will let me know, quite liked this colour combo as ideal for a man, so much so I made a couple of variations for some orders here.

now I think I may have to pop off to hospital for an x ray as I went over on my foot yesterday and not sure if its a bit too sore for just a sprain!

New Baby Girl

New babies and weddings are keeping me out of mischief but also not giving me much time to blog or blog hop to visit you, I am going to try and get around to it tonight after a promised walk with my daughter.

This little set was a gift to new grandparents at my hubby's work , a small album to put piccies of their gorgeous first grandchild in.

I used Louie for Digistamp Boutique and have also entered it into their May challenge.  he has been coloured with prismas and the paper is docrafts spring chic.

Sketch & Stash 87

Hi All 

After making black and white invites etc for the last  few weeks , I was desperate for a splash of colour I decided to make a card for the Sketch and Stash challenge (87) so I have used a LOTV that was free with a mag a while ago and I also coloured it then and never used it , all the papers are from my scraps stash. and the ribbon has been in my box for ages . The sentiment is Craftwork cards and so is the pink flower ( I think ) the lilac is a prima flower .  The image has been coloured with prismas and was a very easy image to colour , I am more of a digi person but I think I may have to visit LOTV very soon.

She is a cutie isn't she ?

New Baby Card

Very quick post tonight with a new baby card I forgot to post and also a keepsake box and album below

this was a gift set for one of my hubby's colleagues on the birth of their first baby.

Its made with one of my fav images from Digistamp Boutique.

Meet Ferguson the hedgehog from Pollycraft and he was a freebie too! Isn't he soo cute!

I have not been posting much as I mentioned in my earlier post that I have been making invites for a friend and tomorrow I am making my first table plan eek! hope it turns out ok!

Belated Birthday Card

A posting at long last ! Sorry not been around but have been really busy again with wedding invites for a friend and kids holidays from school, I'm back with a belated birthday card and the inspiration came from Michelle in her card grotto for the card layout which I have changed a little . The papers are from craftwork cards, the die is spellbinders.

Say Cheese!

A very quick post from me tonight, its been a busy week and I am helping hubby tomorrow.

This card was made as a gift voucher ( hubby needed it for a client who was purchasing a photo shoot as a gift) hence the image! Have briefly shown a glimpse of the inside too

Thinking of you

This is the card I made for my friends mum, re earlier post , digi image from Little Claire, blown up quite large then off the page , has been coloured with prismas and a bit of stickles added , a simple sentiment printed onto the card from the PC.

Will be entering this into Papertake Weekly - anything goes

Less is More Week 57 Neutrals

Sadly my friends dad died suddenly last week, 2 of my kids are best friends with 2 of hers and her dad was lovely to my kids when they went to his house to play with hers.  I have made this card for her. I have also made a second card for her mum which I will post later.

I have stamped a swirl cant remember what make with Versa wheat, placed a strip of black embossed card, added a craftwork cards sentiment and a natural prima flower, with a punched black one and a pearl in the centre. A couple of pearls on the swirls to finish.

Less is More 'Dont scrap it'

I made two small 100 x 100 cards with some leftover checked paper from another card, I have used two small images from Teddy Bo, I distressed the edges of image and paper with my distressing tool and some 'happy birthday' rub ons to finish.

 

As they have both been made with scraps I am entering them into Less is More , 'don't scrap it' this week.

Love my new Die!

I am loving my new Die from Marianne Creatables , I have cut from Plum glitter card and with a simple sentiment in plum, gems and some ribbon, I liked it just the way it was . I have also done a sample for a friend with this for a wedding invite in black glitter card which is really nice too. I can see me using this a lot.
